Our Programs
Maleiha Carino attended Mather High School from 2010 to 2014. Tragically diagnosed with childhood leukemia in 2011, she defied the odds, graduating on schedule in 2014 with plans to begin her freshman year at the University of Illinois at Chicago. However, the summer of that same year marked her final courageous battle against the disease, leading to her passing.
In memory of Maleiha's extraordinary life, we have established the Maleiha Carino Scholarship. This fund aims to support a graduating senior from Mather High School who is committed to pursuing higher education at either a four-year university or a two-year college. Recipients will be awarded a one-time academic scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $1,500. This amount will be disbursed directly to the financial aid office of the recipient's chosen educational institution.
The MCF is uniquely positioned to forge impactful strategic alliances with organizations and institutions specializing in pediatric cancer research and development. We amplify the value of these collaborations by providing targeted financial support and by elevating public consciousness around pediatric cancer research initiatives.
Forge impactful connections with foundations, academic institutions, healthcare experts, and the broader community to establish the nonprofit as a pivotal nexus for fundraising, events, and various transformative initiatives.
